FKM

FKM

The organic fluoride has thermal stability due to a C-F bond with a higher bond strength than C-C bond. Further, since the volume of the fluorine atom is larger than that of hydrogen, the fluorine atom can block the C-C bond having a slightly lower bond strength. Fluororubber has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, oil resistance and chemical resistance. However, it is not very resistant to low molecular weight esters, ethers, ketones and certain amines. Fluororubber is also resistant to oxidation and ozone, and is very stable to sunlight and weather.
